The 2009 Civic Celebration in Allentown School District is in full swing!
A life skills class presented a Project Citizen Portfolio asking for computers for their classroom.
A Special Education class presented a Project Citizen Portfolio on park safety that had the mayor, two council members a cop and another official thinking about some great ideas.
A civic celebration concert was a hit at Ritter led by the music teacher.
A third grade class conducted a mock congressional hearing that was as good, if not better, than many fifth grade class mock hearings. They WOWED all who were there and the 5th grade teachers used them as a model when they were preparing for their hearing.
A Project Citizen class is getting ready to present their portfolio to a district wide wellness committee to hear their suggestions on a nutrition curriculum.
And many more things are going on: Roosevelt had a full day of events that was heavily attended by parents and much more to come.
Activities continue throughout the week of June 1.
