The teaching of U.S. and world history is incomplete if it does not address the history of innovation from economic, scientific/technological, and sociological perspectives. We feel it important for students to be encouraged both to explore the role of innovation in U.S. and world history and to develop their own sense of innovation and creativity.
With the support of the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, FPRI has launched a program on Teaching the History of Innovation, featuring a History Institute for Teachers on October 18-19 in Kansas City, a webcast specially designed for students on November 18, a series of mini-history institutes around the country (under development), and the posting of lesson plans on our website.
